Suggested reading & research from Ed Knox
Questions for discussion on Friday, December 12, 2014:
The major question is: Who are we?
Other questions include:
- What made America great?
- power (external)
- What are our advantages?
- What are our protections?
- When did we begin to fear each other? The rest of the world?
- When did we last feel good as a nation? About ourselves?
- Do fences make good neighbors?
- Do we prefer static defense?
- Is there confident striving for common good?
- What are the sources of our strength?
- What are the sources of our doubt?
- Why have we lost faith in education, infrastructure, government-funded research, rules to incentivize risk-taking. but not recklessness?
- Did Obama cripple us? Or did we damage ourselves?
